The Thurgau Silence is a cabin passenger ship built in 2005/06 as Bellevue by Premicon Cruise MV Bellevue LP , a subsidiary of Premicon AG . The ship is operated by KD Cruise Services Ltd. managed and deployed by the tour operator Thurgau Travel on the Rhine and Danube . The ship was the third of the TwinCruiser type in which the passenger unit was structurally separated from the drive unit.

In addition to three ships acquired second-hand, the Bellevue was the only new building in the “Fluss-Quartett” ship fund launched by Premicon AG in 2005 . After the keel was laid in July 2005, the ship was built until March 2006 under the building number 507 at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock . The ship was christened on April 26, 2006 in Cologne. Godmother was the Canadian opera and musical singer Anna Maria Kaufmann . The Bellevue was registered under the ENI no. 04804590 registered with the home port Cologne . Until October 2009 there was a time charter contract with Transocean Tours Touristik GmbH , which used the ship on the Danube, Main , Moselle and Rhine. Since Premicon took over the insolvent company on November 1, 2009, it has only been on the Rhine and Moselle. The ship management was transferred to KD Cruise Services Ltd. on January 1, 2010. in Cyprus, a subsidiary of the Cologne-Düsseldorfer . Previously, the ship was registered in Valletta , Malta and received the ENI-NR. 09948013.

Since 2017, the ship has been sailing under the Swiss flag as Thurgau Silence for the tour operator Thurgau Travel.

The Thurgau Silence is a three-deck cabin ship of the 4-star category with 97 double cabins of 13 m². The lower deck was called the Moselle deck , the main deck was called the Rhine deck and the upper deck was called the Danube deck. In addition to supply and storage rooms, 18 crew cabins and the fitness room in the central nave, five passenger cabins are set up on the Moselle deck, which are also available in triple or quadruple occupancy using folding beds. The restaurant is located in the bow area of ​​the Rhine deck and is followed by the entrance hall and 46 passenger cabins. On the bow side of the Danube deck is the lounge with integrated bar, the Viennese cafe and 46 double cabins. All cabins are equipped with radio, satellite TV, minibar, safe and telephone, the units in the Rhine and Danube decks have a French balcony. The lounge and the restaurant are equipped with floor-to-ceiling all-round glazing. The sun deck , which extends over the entire passenger unit, is equipped with loungers, seating areas, windbreak walls and awnings. In the structurally separate drive unit located aft, there are eight cabins for the nautical staff.

Construction and technology

The ship is a TwinCruiser, which was constructed with two tightly coupled hulls to protect the passengers against noise . The drive unit is 25 m long, the passenger unit 110 m. The width of the two units is 11.40 m. It is powered by two eight-cylinder MTU diesel engines of the type 4000 M60 with an output of 800 kW each via two four-bladed Veth propeller pods . In addition, the ship has a bow thruster type Jastram Azimuth Jet W60-compact . The energy supply is guaranteed by three diesel generators à 310  kVA .
