The kiting Point (English, Bulgarian нос Китен nos kiting ) is a headland on the south coast of Trinity Peninsula in the north of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the south side of the entrance to Chudomir Cove and is 4.3 km southwest of Pitt Point , 7.56 km southeast of Mount Reece and 7.15 km northwest of Largelius Point on the opposite James Ross Island .
German and British scientists carried out their mapping in 1996. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2010 after the town of Kiten in southeastern Bulgaria and after the freezer ship Kiten , which was used from the 1970s to the early 1990s for fishing in the waters around South Georgia , the Kerguelen , the South Shetland Islands and had operated on the South Orkney Islands .
