Kiton is a luxury textile company specializing in bespoke tailoring. It was founded in 1956 by Ciro Paone and Antonio Carola in Naples. The actual name of the company is "Ciro Paone SpA ". However, the company mostly operates under the brand name “Kiton”. This name comes from the Greek chiton . The brand was launched in 1968. The company is run by Paone's nephew, Antonio De Matteis.

Company founder Ciro Paone comes from a Neapolitan fabric merchant family and worked in his parents' company at a young age. In 1956 he started his own company. In 1968 Kiton went to market.

Kiton is a public company . In 2011 a turnover of 80 million euros was achieved. The company's Chief Executive Officer is Antonio De Matteis. Antonio Paone is responsible for Kiton USA. Both are nephews of co-founder Ciro Paone.
Suits
The company produced approximately 20,000 suits in 2007. Kiton employs around 330 tailors.
There are two lines for ready-to-wear suits: the classic line and the CIPA 1960 line introduced in 2010 .
Tailor-made suits range in price from € 10,000 to € 40,000 for the “K-50” line, the name of which comes from the hours worked per item and the number of copies produced per year.

The company also offers coats, jackets, shirts, accessories, pants, jeans and shoes. In addition to the men's line, there is also a women's line with a comparable portfolio. The perfumes of Kiton are trademarks of Estee Lauder Companies .

Ciro Paone founded a tailoring school near the Kiton factory in Arzano , a suburb of Naples. The only “machines” that are used are needles, sewing rings and scissors.
