Kittiratt Na-Ranong

Kittiratt Na-Ranong (born August 3, 1958 ) ( Thai : กิตติ รัตน์ ณ ระนอง ) is a Thai politician . He has been the country's finance minister since 2012.

Life

Na-Ranong attended the Assumption School in Bangkok and the Triam Udom Suksa School in Bangkok . He studied economics at Chulalongkorn University , where he graduated in 1980. He then went on to study at the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration . After his studies he worked at the Thailand Stock Exchange and after a few years switched to the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He became Vice President of the Sasin Graduate Institute and President of Shinawatra Private University .

In 2007 he got involved in the Thais United party . On August 9, 2011, he became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy in the government of Yingluck Shinawatra . After a cabinet reshuffle in January 2012, he lost the Ministry of Economic Affairs and was appointed Minister of Finance of Thailand.
