The Kitz Alps Trail (abbreviated to KAT100 - 100 stands for the distance in miles ) is an ultramarathon that has been held in Austria every year since 2019 . It starts and ends in Fieberbrunn in the area around the Kitzbühel Alps and is, based on the route length of around 169 km and 9,800 positive meters in altitude , the most demanding mountain marathon among trail running competitions in Austria.

With a few exceptions, the entire route runs on existing nature trails. The circuit, which starts in Fieberbrunn, takes you back to the start via Hochfilzen , St. Johann in Tirol , Kitzbüheler Horn , Jochberg , Oberaurach and Fieberbrunn . Six ITRA or six UTMB points are awarded for successful completion .
Alternative competitions
In addition to the KAT100 Miles with a length of 169 km and 9800 vertical meters, there is also the option of doing this as a relay competition and competitions on shorter distances:
- KAT100 Ekiden Trail : Relay competition over 82 km or 87 km with 4900 vertical meters each, 4 ITRA / UTMB points
- KAT100 Endurance Trail : 87 km with 4900 vertical meters, 4 ITRA / UTMB points
- KAT100 marathon : 58 km with 3100 vertical meters, 3 ITRA / UTMB points
- KAT100 Speed Trail : 24 km with 1500 vertical meters, 1 ITRA / UTMB point
- KAT100 Kids Trail : circular course over 500 m for children and teenagers between 6 and. 16 years (depending on age between one and three rounds)

In 2019, the Austrian Ultra Trail Championship was held as part of the KAT100 Endurance Trail and the competition was part of the Austrian Trail Running Cup.
Regulations
The regulations stipulate that the participants must have personal autonomy in the mountains ( five ITRA points for the KAT100 Endurance Trail ). Depending on the competition, it is compulsory to carry the specified equipment. The competition takes place according to the guidelines of the Austrian Trail Running Association (ATRA). Successful completion of the KAT100 Endurance Trail is awarded six ITRA or six UTMB points.
