Kirk Freudenburg

Kirk Freudenburg (born February 15, 1961 ) is an American classical philologist .

Life

He received a BA from Valparaiso University and an MA in Classics from Washington University . He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin , where he wrote a dissertation under the direction of Denis Feeney . Before joining Yale University , he taught at Kent State University , Ohio State University, and the University of Illinois .

His main research interests are Roman satire, the theoretical and social context of Greek and Roman literature, and interdisciplinary approaches to researching literature and culture.
