The Kivijärvi (sometimes also Ylä-Kivijärvi ) is a lake in the Finnish countryside of South Karelia .
The 76.36 km² lake is located at a height of 75.2 m within the municipal boundaries of Luumäki and Lemi . Kivijärvi is located between the first and second Salpausselkä ridge. The Saimaa begins a few kilometers to the northeast . There are 164 islands in Kivijärvi. The catchment area covers 498 km². The Huopaisenvirta drains the Kivijärvi at its western end. The Valkealan reitti waterway connects the lake with the Kymijoki .
The place Lemi is on its northeast bank. The State Street 6 runs along its south shore.
