Kiwaasa (also: Chiuassa ) is an island in Somalia . It belongs politically to Jubaland and geographically to the Bajuni Islands , a chain of coral islands ( barrier islands ), which extends from Kismaayo in the north over 100 kilometers to the Raas Kaambooni near the Kenyan border.

geography

The elongated, narrow island lies off the coast between Fuyuuma in the north and Kiyaamwa in the south. The island is about 1.5 km from the coast and consists only of a narrow reef edge.

The climate is tropical hot monsoon climate .
