Kjell Holler
Kjell Torbjørn Holler (born June 29, 1925 in Rjukan , Telemark province , † November 1, 2000 ) was a Norwegian economist and politician of the labor party .
Holler was Minister of Industry in Einar Gerhardsen's third government (April 9, 1959 - August 28, 1963). In 1963, the Kings Bay Affair led to the most significant upheaval in Norwegian politics in the post-war period. As Minister of Industry, Holler was made grave allegations in connection with the coal mining accidents in Ny-Ålesund . Holler had already come under fire from criticism because Norsk Koksverk A / S, which was founded on his proposal and was supposed to process the coal mined on Svalbard into coke and ammonia , had massive budget overruns. Holler resigned on July 4, 1963, and on August 28 of the same year the entire third government of Gerhardsen had to resign after a no-confidence motion in Storting because of the Kings Bay affair. Holler was no longer a member of Gerhardsen's fourth government.
After his resignation, Holler worked in a leading position for Televerket until 1991. In addition, he was active in various commissions, most recently in the Norwegian Refugee Council .
