Kjersti Toppe (born October 20, 1967 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp).

Life

After attending high school, Toppe studied medicine at the University of Bergen from 1986 to 1992 . From 1996 to 1997 she was a doctor in the service of the Bremanger municipality ( Kommunelege ), and from 1999 to 2002 for Bergen . Between 2003 and 2009 she was a member of the Bergen City Council. In addition, from 2007 to 2009 she was a member of the Fylkesting in the then Hordaland Province .

Toppe moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2009 general election . She was re-elected in both 2013 and 2017 . There she represents the constituency of Hordaland and is deputy chairwoman of the health committee. On October 2, 2017, she was elected deputy group leader of her party. In the 2018/19 staging period, she was the MP with the most questions and contributions. Among other things, she criticized the handling of the air ambulance by the Solberg government .

Toppe is the mother of six children who were born between 1992 and 2004.
