The Mariagerfjord sewage treatment plant ( Danish: Mariagerfjord Rensningsanlæg ) is a new sewage treatment plant that was built in Mariagerfjord Kommune , north of Hadsund in Denmark . When completed, the sewage treatment plant will replace ten older small plants in Mariagerfjord Municipality.

history

Construction of the project started in March 2012. The new sewage treatment plant in Mariagerfjord Municipality was completed in autumn 2013 and commissioned on October 22, 2013. The new plant has been operated by Mariagerfjord Vand A / S since its completion . In 2014 the sewage treatment plants in Oue and Hobro were shut down, the sewage treatment plants in Assens (shutdown 2015 /) and the old plant in Mariager (shutdown 2016) still existed. The old sewage treatment plants in Astrup , Tisted , Glerup , Als Odde and Hadsund were shut down between 2013 and 2014.

The new large sewage treatment plant was built on an area of ​​around 7.5 hectares, which had previously been acquired by the operators. There are further operational and administrative buildings on the site of the sewage treatment plant. The usable area of ​​these structures comprises approx. 900 m² of office, meeting and social facilities as well as approx. 1,100 m² of workshops and warehouses.

For the first time since the mid-19th century, such a large wastewater treatment plant was built in Denmark. The new sewage treatment plant in Mariagerfjord Municipality cost around 400 million crowns . The system was officially put into operation on November 11, 2013 and was inaugurated and handed over by HC Maarup , the mayor of Mariagerfjord Municipality. With the commissioning, the old sewage treatment plant in Hadsund and Als Odde Rensningsanlæg were shut down.
