KLAFS GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of sauna systems for private and commercial purposes based in Schwäbisch Hall and the world market leader in the sauna, wellness and spa sector .

history

The company was founded in 1928 by Erich Klafs in Szczecin . In 1948 the company founder began to rebuild in Schwäbisch Hall. KLAFS has been manufacturing saunas (here for the first time for medical spa departments) since 1952. In addition to sauna systems, KLAFS also manufactures steam baths , snow cabins , infrared cabins , solariums and whirlpools .

Business operations were expanded in 1980 with the establishment of the subsidiary Klafs AG , a stock corporation under Swiss law with its headquarters in Baar . There is also a subsidiary in Austria , KLAFS GmbH based in Hopfgarten im Brixental .

In 2010, Klafs had a turnover of 86.5 million euros with around 670 employees.

Acquisitions

  • In 2010 KLAFS took over SSF Schwimmbad GmbH in Meerbusch.
  • In 2011 KLAFS took over the sauna manufacturer Röger GmbH , founded in 1947 and based in Schwäbisch Hall-Sittenhardt as a subsidiary.
  • In 2014 KLAFS took over all of the shares in the pool builder Thermarium Bäder-Bau GmbH , based in Buch in Tyrol, and has been running this business as a subsidiary ever since.

The company is the name sponsor of the KLAFS Tennis Grand Prix . The former number 1 in the tennis world rankings, Thomas Muster, also owns a KLAFS sauna .
