Buch in Tirol is a municipality with 2611 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the district of Schwaz in Tyrol ( Austria ). On January 1, 2011 the municipality received the new postcode 6220, the renaming of Buch bei Jenbach to Buch in Tirol was announced by the Tyrolean state government on June 29, 2010. The community is located in the judicial district of Schwaz .
geography
Buch is located in the Lower Inn Valley south of the Inn . In addition to the eponymous place Buch , the community also consists of the villages of St. Margarethen and Maurach , a part of Rotholz and the Troi on the mountain slope (consisting of Obertroi and Untertroi ).

history
In the Middle Ages, copper and silver were mined in the area for a long time. Today Buch is a popular residential community.

politics
Mayor was Otto Mauracher until March 20, 2017. He resigned that day. Marion Wex was elected mayor on May 31, 2017. Several famous politicians lived in Rotholz, such as the former economic councilor and governor of Tyrol Alois Grauss .
Culture and sights
From a religious point of view, the municipality of Buch in Tyrol belongs to the pastoral care room St. Margarethen-Strass-Schlitters, which in turn belongs to the dean's office in Fügen Jenbach.
