Bridge over the Klammleitenbach near the Reindlmühle

The Klammleiten is a 2.5 kilometer long gorge-like valley of the Klammleitenbach in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria .

description

The gorge Leitenbach overcomes in this area partly above and partly below ground a height of about two hundred meters. Notable places in the gorge are the forest prayer (cross under the Einsiedel wall), the Teufelsmühle, the Kindlstein, the Coburg-Bründl, the Himmelsleiter, the Kanzelstein, the ruins of a house mill and the Reindlmühle with a mill wheel.

With a replica of a Gefluder , a technical facility about twenty meters long was created in the Klammleiten in 2002, reminiscent of the timber transport ( failure flood ). With the Gefluder, routes were overcome where the Klammleitenbach runs underground. From 1755 to 1937, wood was felled in winter, brought to the banks of the brooks by sledge and transported over the meltwater-carrying brooks to the Naarn and on to the Danube . Over a period of several weeks, up to three thousand people ensured that the approximately one meter long logs were quickly transported.
