Technology and process

Sound wave water system, 2009

With the sound wave, like a water organ , numerous water jets created moving patterns and figures out of water. In addition, 45 pumps and over 800 nozzles were used, in addition to fountains and fountains, a water wall ( waterscreen ) was also built. The fountains were up to 30 m high. From 2012 flamethrowers were also used (for the first time they were used in the sound wave Bonn 2012 in the rock part during the song Thunderstruck by ACDC).

The water jets were illuminated in different colors. In addition, like a laser show, laser animations were projected onto the spray water and films were played on the water wall with projectors .

The third medium was music played from loudspeakers , to which water and light created a suitable choreography . They played classical music , rock and pop -music and Rhenish carnival songs .

The system was set up in front of the Beethoven monument on Münsterplatz . Pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven , who was born in Bonn, were always used in the classical part of the event, and the statue was included in the show.

The entire show consisted of three parts, between which there was a break of 20 minutes to fill the pool.

The technology came from the Austrian company Consortium Eventtechnik GmbH. The artistic direction was originally Siegwulf Turek , in 2007 it went to Roland Nenzel and Daniel Ploil. The financing of the free event was provided by local companies as sponsors.

history

The Bonner Klangwelle was an offshoot of the Klangwelle Wörthersee in Velden . Since 2005, the event in Bonn has taken place on several consecutive evenings from September to October. According to the organizers, the Klangwelle was visited by almost 60,000 in 2005, 80,000 in 2006 and 100,000 in 2007 and 2008. The sound wave planned for 2014 had to be canceled because two residents complained about the noise of the event.
