Klaus Bahlsen fountain
The Klaus-Bahlsen-Brunnen (also called Bahlsen-Brunnen ) stands on Trammplatz in front of the New Town Hall in Hanover . It was designed by Ludger Gerdes in 1996 . It is a gift from the Rut and Klaus Bahlsen Foundation to the city.
Construction details
The basic shape of the fountain, a cut checkerboard pattern with two fountains, is surrounded by eleven red, polished granite blocks.
The word “but” is written on one of the blocks (as opposed to “connecting”).
history
The Klaus-Bahlsen-Brunnen has taken the place of the water flower installed in 1961 by Wilhelm Brodthage in a flat, rectangular basin , which was shut down in 1986.
