Klaus-Michael Stephan
Klaus-Michael Stephan (born September 20, 1941 in Breslau ) is a German sculptor and painter .
Life
Klaus-Michael Stephan was born in Breslau in 1941. From 1956 to 1968 he completed an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor and also worked in this profession. From 1968 to 1973 he studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts , where he has been a professor since 1992. In 2002 he and his wife bought the school in Fürstenau and converted it into a studio and exhibition room. In front of the school they exhibit several wooden sculptures as well as a self-designed Christmas pyramid. The annual public pyramid pushing takes place on the 1st weekend in Advent. The pyramid is constantly expanding, in 2013 by 4 figures.
Klaus-Michael Stephan is married to the sculptor Julia Stephan .
