Julia Stephan also Rosemarie Stephan (* 1943 in Rochlitz ) is a German sculptor and painter .

Life

Julia Stephan was born in Rochlitz in 1943. After finishing school, she completed an apprenticeship as a commercial applicant . In 1968 she completed a degree in theater sculpture (later sculpture ) at the Dresden University of Fine Arts . Her artistic subject was people, her preferred materials bronze , plaster , terracotta , stone and paper mache .

She is married to the sculptor Klaus-Michael Stephan . In 2002 she and her husband bought the school in Fürstenau and converted it into a studio. In front of the school they exhibit several wooden sculptures as well as a self-designed Christmas pyramid.
