Klaus Berge (born October 4, 1961 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a former German soccer player , coach and current player advisor .
Career
Klaus Berge began as a youth player at SV Vestia Disteln and played there up to the B-youth; then he moved to SpVg Marl . He later played 33 games in the 1st Bundesliga for FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Saarbrücken .
The trained banker in the high administrative service began his coaching activity initially in the Oberliga Westfalen for 1. FC Recklinghausen and SpVg Marl. As a coach, he then looked after the SpVgg Erkenschwick , from 1997 to 1998 LR Ahlen in the Regionalliga West , then Preußen Münster (1998/99) and from 1999 to 2001 Rot-Weiss Essen in the regional soccer league .
In October 2001 he received the football instructor license. After 1. FC Union Berlin , where he worked as a manager, Berge took over the first division club 1. FC Kleve in 2004 , which he looked after for three years. In spring 2007 Berge announced his retirement at the end of the season; Arie van Lent was appointed as his successor .
On March 22, 2008, he took over the KFC Uerdingen 05 as the successor to Aleksandar Ristic . His goal was to save the KFC from relegation to the association league, which he and his coaching team did not succeed.
In the 2008/09 season he looked after black and white Essen in the new NRW League , the successor to the former upper leagues Westphalia and North Rhine. For the 2009/10 season he took over the care of the A-youth from Rot-Weiss Essen, but was released early due to unsuccessfulness.
From January 2010 to January 1, 2012 he coached the 1st team of the DSC Wanne-Eickel . Since January 2012 he has been working as a player consultant for the Baumgarten sports & more agency.
