Klaus Brauda

Klaus Brauda (born August 9, 1901 in Asnières , France ; † January 16, 1970 ) was a German printer's owner and CDU politician .

Life

After attending grammar school, Brauda studied law and economics in Heidelberg and Berlin . He passed his first state examination at the Superior Court in Berlin. He later obtained his doctorate in Heidelberg. jur.

Between 1924 and 1933 he was first a sales representative and later a wholesaler. During the Second World War Brauda was a (scientific) unskilled worker. From 1945 he was a managing partner of Otto Dahmann & Co. printing company in Wuppertal .

In 1945 Brauda was one of the founding members of the CDU. From 1946 he was a member of the city council in Wuppertal and temporarily its chairman or deputy chairman. He was also mayor of Wuppertal between 1946 and 1950 .

In 1946 and 1947 he was a member of the appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia , then until 1954 an elected Landtag member. After a break, Brauda was again a member of the state parliament between 1958 and 1962.

Awards and honors

In 1967 Klaus Brauda was awarded the ring of honor by the city of Wuppertal . In addition, a street in Wuppertal was named after him and a plaque commemorates him.
