Klaus Fischer (entrepreneur)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus Artur Fischer (born August 17, 1950 in Freudenstadt ) is a German entrepreneur and owner of the fischer group of companies .

Life

After studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Konstanz from 1971 to 1975 and graduating as a Dipl.-Ing. FH Fischer joined fischerwerke in 1975 . On April 1, 1976 he became Technical Director, 1980 General Manager. The company was founded by his father, Artur Fischer .

Under Klaus Fischer, the international business of the company, which was founded in 1948, grew in importance. The number of national subsidiaries rose from six (1980) to 47 in 35 countries (2018). This went hand in hand with the diversification of the product range. The fischer automotive systems division (kinematic components for the vehicle interior) goes back to a storage system for compact cassettes (fischer CBOX) introduced in 1981 and is now the second most important pillar of the company. In 2004, fischer Consulting, a process consulting subsidiary, was added as a fourth corporate division. Klaus Fischer expanded the most important business field fastening technology to include chemical fastening systems - also through the acquisition of companies (Upat 1993, Rocca 1997). Since Klaus Fischer took over overall responsibility in 1980, the turnover of the fischer group of companies has increased more than tenfold (from 80 to 887 million euros). The family company sells its products in more than 100 countries.

In the 1980s, Klaus Fischer introduced a model that is binding for everyone working in the company. This mission statement is in addition to the company's objectives and the mission statement of fischer - innovative, responsibly, seriously - defined. In 2001 Klaus Fischer introduced the fischer Process System (fPS), a strategy for the continuous improvement of all company processes based on the Japanese Kaizen concept. Fischer received several awards in 2008 for its process optimization .

In the 1990s he took over the majority of the shares, since 2001 he has owned 98 percent of the shares in the fischer group and one percent each to his sons Frank and Jörg Klaus. Currently (2014) 40% of the shares are held by the two sons and 60% by Klaus Fischer. Son Jörg Klaus took over the company management in spring 2011; about a year later he left the company at his own request. The generation change in the family company has thus failed for the time being. At the beginning of 2018, Klaus Fischer handed over the chairmanship of the management to Marc-Sven Mengis.

The total assets of the Klaus Fischer family were estimated at EUR 500 million in 2008.

Fischer is married.
