Klaus G. Troitzsch

Klaus G. Troitzsch (born November 28, 1946 in Ilsede - Oberg , Lower Saxony ) is a German sociologist and was a university professor and head of the Institute for Business and Administrative Informatics at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

Life

Troitzsch studied sociology and political science at the University of Hamburg and the University of Cologne . In 1979 he received his doctorate in political science from the University of Hamburg. In 1986 he completed his habilitation in political science at what was then the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Education (now the University of Koblenz-Landau ).

From 1974 to 1978 Klaus G. Troitzsch was a member of the Hamburg parliament for the FDP .

Act

In 1986 Klaus Troitzsch became professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau. From 1987 to 1992 he was dean of the faculty for computer science , from 1992 to 2000 vice dean. In 2012 he retired.

Services

Troitzsch is considered a pioneer in the field of methodical development of computer-based simulations in the social sciences. His research interests lie in the area of agent-based models and microsimulations . He was a founding member of the research group for modeling and simulations of the German Society for Sociology and the European Social Simulation Association . Troitzsch also organized several social science conferences.

Fonts

His book "Modeling and Simulation in the Social Sciences" is one of the first to be published in German in this area. In 2005 the 2nd edition of Simulation for the Social Scientist appeared (together with Nigel Gilbert ).
