Klaus Hildebrand (born October 10, 1954 in Munich ; † December 2, 2010 ) was a German entrepreneur .

biography

Hildebrand studied business administration after attending school and, after graduating with a degree in business administration , began his professional career at the Conti Group , where he began developing the passenger shipping division in 1992 . In 1992 he acquired Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt from the Treuhandanstalt für Conti , which is considered the oldest and largest paddle steamer fleet in the world, and then began the successful renovation of the "White Fleet".

In 1998 he co-founded Premicon AG , which is mainly dedicated to the river cruise business with 25 of its own ships, but also makes investments in ocean cruises ( MS "Astor" ) and container shipping (e.g. "MS Atlanticon") as well as in real estate and biodiesel . In the period that followed, Hildebrand, who is the largest shareholder with a 36.75 percent share, was a member of the board and managing director of Premicon AG until his death and most recently also concluded charter agreements with TUI . In addition, he was both managing director and shareholder of Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt and chairman of the supervisory board of Cologne-Düsseldorf Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt .

Due to a serious illness of Klaus Hildebrand, Thomas Wirmer returned from his retirement to the Management Board of Premicon AG in mid-September 2010.
