Klaus Homann (Manager)

Klaus Homann (born February 27, 1950 ) is honorary professor at the TU Clausthal , head of RWE - Transportnetze and, since 2005, president of the German umbrella organization for water and gas supply .

Life

Homann studied mechanical engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum from 1968 to 1975 and graduated with a degree in engineering. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Essen , where he was awarded a Dr.-Ing. received his doctorate.

In 1973 he worked for VEW for the first time , where he held various management positions in the gas supply / gas technology area until 1998 and became an authorized signatory in 1994 . He has been a member of the Executive Board of RWE Gas AG since 1998 and became General Director of RWE Transportnetz Gas GmbH in 2004 . He has been on the board of Transgas since 2002 and has been responsible for the RWE Energy Czech Republic in Prague since 2004 .

In July 2004, the Clausthal University of Technology appointed him honorary professor. In mid-2005, Homann was elected President of the German Association for Gas and Water ( DVGW ).

Since November 26, 2009 he has been President of DIN . In this function he was re-elected twice, so that he filled the office for the maximum possible time. On November 5, 2015, he received the DIN ring of honor.
