Klaus Jürgen Diehl

Klaus Jürgen Diehl (born July 3, 1943 ) is a retired German Protestant pastor and book author .

Life

Diehl grew up in Lüdenscheid on, then studied 1963-1968 theology , including at the Theological Seminary Bethel as well as the universities of Heidelberg, Münster and Zurich. He began his professional career in 1970 as travel secretary for the student mission in Germany . From 1971 to 1995 he was federal warden of the YMCA- Westbund. After that he was head of the Office for Missionary Services of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia until his retirement in 2008 .

He was a member of the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance , worked on the trust council of the Missionary Services Working Group (AMD) in the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and was a member of the EKD Synod from 1996 to 2008. He was spiritually shaped primarily by Paul Deitenbeck .

Diehl is a co-initiator of the Westphalian community festival "maximum", which started in 1999, and is the chairman of the YMCA senior citizens' initiative. Diehl is co-editor of several biblical interpretations, author of the Bible reading aids “The First Days with the Bible” and “In 99 Days Through the Bible” as well as the parish course “Speaking of Faith Quietly” and continues to work as a book author and publisher in retirement.

Klaus Jürgen Diehl has been married to his wife Karin since 1971. The couple has three children and lives in Wetter (Ruhr) .
