Klaus Jung (artist)

Klaus Jung (born March 12, 1955 in Solingen ) is a German installation artist , art college teacher and art college manager.

Life

Jung studied from 1973 to 1979 at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Fritz Schwegler and Klaus Rinke and then attended the Royal College of Art in London for a year as a DAAD scholarship holder . In 1982 he received a MoMA PS1 grant and in 1985 a grant from Art Cologne .

From 1990 to 1995 he headed the Kunstakademiet i Trondheim (faculty and institute of the NTNU ) as rector , from 1995 to 2002 the Bergen School of Art and Design , from 2002 to 2009 the School of Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art and from 2009 to 2014 the Academy of Media Arts Cologne . Since 2015 he has been head of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten .

Since 1977 Jung has exhibited his works several times in individual and group exhibitions in Germany and other European countries.
