Klaus-Richard Walter Adolf Kottmeier (born September 16, 1933 in Surabaya ) is a German publisher and former long-time head of the German specialist publisher .

Life

Klaus Kottmeier was born as the son of the businessman Richard Kottmeier, grandson of the Rotenburg pastor Adolf Kottmeier , and his wife Ursula nee. Dutch born. From 1953 he studied law in Basel, Berlin, Heidelberg and Hamburg. After 1962, he held various positions at the Weser-Kurier , before joining the German specialist publishing company in 1970 as the publishing director of the Lebensmittel Zeitung. In 1976 he was appointed managing director of the publishing group and was responsible for key developments in the group. In 2009, Kottmeier received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . From its founding in 1992 to 2000, Kottmeier was the spokesman for the Association of German Trade Press . The three non-profit branch foundations of the dfv, the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation, the Golden Sugar Loaf Foundation and the HORIZONT Foundation, were set up on Kottmeier's initiative. They serve to promote young talents in the textile and food industries as well as the communication and agency industries.
