The dfv media group (legal name: Deutscher Fachverlag GmbH ) specializes in business-to-business communication. With its subsidiaries, it supplies specialist information for eleven economic sectors via various channels. It publishes printed journals as well as digital offers and organizes events such as congresses and seminars. The dfv portfolio is rounded off by specialist books and services such as market research and corporate publishing.

history

Wilhelm Lorch founded the publishing house in Stuttgart in September 1946, at that time still under the name Neuer Fachverlag . The publishing house moved to its current headquarters in Frankfurt am Main in 1948, and in the same year it was renamed Deutscher Fachverlag GmbH . The first trade journal published that year was TextilWirtschaft. Today the company is a publishing group active in five countries through subsidiaries and holdings, the publications are distributed worldwide. Since January 2014 the publishing group Deutscher Fachverlag has been renamed dfv Mediengruppe , the legal name remains Deutscher Fachverlag GmbH.

Subsidiaries and holdings

In Germany, the publisher holds 100% shares in the publishers and companies B2B Online GmbH , Deutsche Fachmedien GmbH , dfv Conference Group GmbH , dfv Venture GmbH , IBP-International Business Press Publishers GmbH , the Verlag für Wirtschaftspraxis GmbH (all based in Frankfurt am Main), Matthaes Verlag GmbH based in Stuttgart , FVW Medien GmbH based in Hamburg and dfv Euro Finance Group GmbH based in Frankfurt am Main .

There are majority holdings in IZ Immobilien Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH in Wiesbaden and in Business Target Group GmbH , based in Scheeßel near Hamburg .

Further investments are still held in Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft mbH in Berlin , the German Institute for Legal Departments and Corporate Lawyers GmbH (diruj) (formerly dfv Association Services GmbH ) based in Frankfurt and ferret go GmbH based in Berlin. The dfv media group is also involved in NKF Media GmbH (Berlin).

International subsidiaries are Edizioni Ecomarket SpA based in Milan and Manstein Zeitschriftenverlagsgesellschaft mbH in Perchtoldsdorf near Vienna, as well as VFP Communications Ltd. Sp. Z oo in Warsaw . There is a 100% participation in all three companies. The company is represented by international partnerships in China, India, Russia and Hungary.

The dfv media group is active in the following business areas: specialist magazines , specialist books , digital media offers , events, corporate publishing , market research and telemarketing as well as media statistics. The Lebensmittel Zeitung , the TextilWirtschaft and the Horizont are among the top 5 advertising magazines in Germany.

Foundations

The dfv media group has initiated three industry foundations: These were the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation in 1988, the Goldener Zuckerhut Foundation in 1990 and the Horizont Foundation in 2006. They serve to promote young talent and to honor the special personal achievements of young talents in the textile industry. Food industry as well as in the communication and agency branch.
