The Immobilien Zeitung (IZ) is a German specialist magazine for the real estate industry . It appears weekly every Thursday and provides daily information via its own IZ aktuell newsletter . The print edition reaches 8,671 subscribers per week (01/20) with a print run of 10,116 copies.

The headquarters of the Immobilien Zeitung is in Wiesbaden , where the administration, management and the main editorial office are located. Correspondents are based in Berlin , Hamburg , Stuttgart and Munich . The entire IZ media group employs around 120 people, 30 of them in the editorial office.

The publishing group Deutscher Fachverlag has held a stake in IZ Immobilien Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH since 2007 . The real estate newspaper itself is involved Heuer Dialog on which specializes in the real estate industry seminars and trade shows.

1988–1997: Foundation of the Immobilien Zeitung

1988: IZ Immobilien Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH is founded as a subsidiary of ACS-GmbH (American Consumer Services) based in Wiesbaden. The newspaper consists exclusively of classified ads and is self-distributed in the Rhine-Main area. There is no editorial department in the journalistic sense.

1991: The Immobilien Zeitung hires its first editor .

1993–1997: 1993 saw the birth of IZ Immobilien Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH following the conversion to a specialist medium with nationwide distribution. In 1993 Jan Mucha joined the editorial team of Immobilien Zeitung as a student trainee , and Thomas Porten began his traineeship a year later . In economically difficult times, Thomas Porten, Thorsten Karl and Jan Mucha acquire IZ Immobilien Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH. Jan Mucha takes over the management and Thomas Porten becomes editor-in-chief .

1998–2011: Establishment of the publishing house

The publisher is establishing itself as a comprehensive specialist medium for the real estate industry and increasing its subscriber numbers from 3,900 to 8,500.

2000: The Immobilien Zeitung provides information 24/7 on the company's own website www.iz.de.

2001: The first dispatch of the daily IZ aktuell newsletter.

2002: Move into the new publishing house at Luisenstrasse 24 in Wiesbaden. In the same year, on the initiative of the Immobilien Zeitung, the " Rat der Immobilienweise " is founded, which regularly analyzes the German real estate markets with its spring report.

2004: The publishing house becomes the German contact for the MIPIM Awards, the most prestigious real estate prizes on an international level.

2006: The Immobilien Zeitung receives the Golden Brick Award for the best non-English language industry website worldwide.

2007: The Immobilien Zeitung is now published weekly, which increases the number of employees to 35. In 2007 Deutsche Fachverlag took a stake in Immobilien Zeitung .

2008: The Immobilien Zeitung is recognized by the German trade press as one of the best specialist newspapers in Germany. In the same year the Immobilien Zeitung took a majority stake in "Bernd Heuer Dialog GmbH", today "Heuer Dialog" based in Düsseldorf. The job market IZ Jobs is founded.

2011: The Immobilien Zeitung's own shop for specialist real estate literature, IZ Shop, is launched. At the end of 2011 the publishing house had 85 employees.

2014-today: The path to digitization

2014–2015: The Immobilien Zeitung expands its classic core area of ​​news to include research databases such as the IZ transaction database , IZ profiles and the IZ housing market analysis.

The Immobilien Zeitung research platform currently includes five analysis tools. The IZ transaction database contains data records on more than 41,000 real estate transactions since 2006. IZ Comparables for analyzing commercial real estate contains information on a good 26,000 German properties. IZ Orte prepares market data and structural data for all German cities and municipalities. The IZ residential market analysis is a professional instrument for determining the price of residential real estate. The IZ Reportfinder bundles more than 15,000 publications on German and European real estate markets.

IZ profiles

IZ Profile structures the current news situation according to cities , companies and projects . IZ Cities bundles news and structural data from around 15,000 locations. IZ Unternehmens compiles news on real estate companies and their business developments and IZ Projects provides information on more than 36,000 properties and real estate projects .

Service databases

Immobilien Zeitung's service databases provide information on foreclosures and mortgage interest rates from regional providers, financiers and building societies that are updated daily. They are supplemented by a mortgage calculator and a seminar calendar.
