Klaus Kotzmann

Klaus Kotzmann (born January 17, 1960 in Wolfen ) is a former German foil fencer . For the German Democratic Republic he took part in the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow . With the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam he was GDR team champion, in individual he was runner-up twice. After German reunification he was a coach at FC Tauberbischofsheim .

In 1982 and 1984 Kotzmann was second in the GDR championships, in 1981 third. He also won the team championship in 1980 with ASK Vorwärts Potsdam . At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he was tied for 9th place and, together with Hartmuth Behrens, was the best German fencer. Together with Adrian Germanus , Klaus Haertter and Siegmar Gutzeit they finished fourth with the team . Kotzmann was head coach at ASK Vorwärts Potsdam until 1990, after which he moved to FC Tauberbischofsheim.
