Adrian Germanus

Adrian Germanus (born September 22, 1955 in Hanover ) is a German foil fencer and two-time GDR champion. For the German Democratic Republic he took part in the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 and Seoul in 1988. In 1983 he became vice world champion with the team, in 1986 he won bronze. He fought for SC Motor Jena .

In 1984 and 1985 Germanus was GDR champion. In addition, he was runner-up twice and took third place three times.

In 1980 and 1988 he took part in the team competition at the Olympic Games and took fourth place both times. In 1980 his teammates were Siegmar Gutzeit , Hartmuth Behrens , Klaus Haertter and Klaus Kotzmann , in 1988 he fought with Aris Enkelmann , Jens Gusek , Jens Howe and Udo Wagner . At the world championships in Vienna in 1983 he was runner-up behind the Federal Republic of Germany together with Behrens, Kotzmann and Howe. In 1986 he again won the bronze medal with the team (with Howe, Wagner, Enkelmann and Ingo Weißenborn ).

Germanus is currently a trainer at the fencing department of TSB Ravensburg and TSV Tettnang.
