Klaus Haertter

Klaus Haertter (born July 22, 1952 in Lauchhammer ) is a German foil fencer , multiple GDR champion and participant in the Olympic Games in Montreal and Moscow . He was active at SC Einheit Dresden . Since 2000 he has been the coach of Dresdner FC.

successes

As a junior, Haertter won the Spartakiad and was sixth at the Junior World Championships in Minsk. Between 1972 and 1980 he was five times GDR individual champion, he also won two medals at the Universiades in 1977 in Sofia and 1979 in Mexico.

At his first World Cup tournament in Paris, he took first place, but he was still denied the great success in the form of a medal at the Olympic Games. At the 1976 Olympic Games, he failed in the semi-finals and was 13th. In 1980, he was fourth with the team at the Olympic Games in Moscow (together with Siegmar Gutzeit , Hartmuth Behrens , Adrian Germanus and Klaus Kotzmann ), in the individual he again finished 13th . After completing his competitive sports career, Haertter was successful as a multiple German senior champion and senior world champion in 2004.
