Klaus Kubasik (born March 8, 1947 ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

For the 1972/73 season, Kubasik moved from the western regional division Eintracht Gelsenkirchen to the then southern regional division VfR Heilbronn . As a man-decker, he formed an excellent tandem with Libero Helmut Röhrig . In 1974/75 he qualified with Heilbronn for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga South, from which they were relegated to the 1st amateur league after the first season .

Despite numerous offers, Klaus Kubasik remained loyal to VfR and in 1978 he qualified for the newly founded Oberliga Baden-Württemberg as the third-highest division with VfR . He was one of the few who was not involved in the big scandal at the end of this season when almost the entire team flew to Mallorca to celebrate after winning the title instead of playing in the WFV Cup game against the Heidenheimer SB .

After the league season 1979/80 he had to end his career at VfR due to a serious injury. During the season he had already taken over the coaching position at the club at risk of relegation. While at the end of the season, thanks to the better goal difference, they managed to stay up in the league, the team only narrowly missed a title win in the 1979/80 WFV Cup final against league champions VfB Stuttgart Amateure due to a 3-2 defeat. The following season Werner Mangold took over the coaching position at the club.
