Klaus Miehlke

Klaus Miehlke (born August 17, 1916 in Opole ; † November 6, 2009 in Wiesbaden ) was a German internist.

Miehlke studied medicine and received his doctorate in Würzburg in 1943. In 1961 he came to the municipal rheumatism clinic in Kaiser-Friedrich-Bad in Wiesbaden as chief physician . He expanded the clinic, which now bears his name, into an internationally renowned specialist clinic.

From 1988 onwards, he organized the annual presentation of the Carol Nachman Prize , the most valuable prize in rheumatology .

Since May 18, 1995 he was an honorary citizen of the city of Wiesbaden , in the same year he was also made an honorary citizen of Opole. In 1999 he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
