Klaus Oberauer

Klaus Oberauer (* 1965 ) is a German psychologist . He is head of the professorship for cognitive psychology at the University of Zurich (UZH).

Life

Oberauer studied psychology at the Free University of Berlin and graduated in 1991. From 1994 to 1997 he worked at the University of Mannheim . In 1995 he was at the University of Heidelberg with the work Intentionality and Reflection. Building blocks for a hermeneutic cognitive science for Dr. phil. PhD . From 1997 to 2005 he worked at the University of Potsdam with Reinhold Kliegl . In 2003 he completed his habilitation there in psychology and received his thesis The limits of cognitive capacity or: Why are we not more intelligent? the Venia legendi . From 2005 he was a professor at Bristol University . In 2008 he was appointed full professor for general psychology with a focus on cognitive psychology at the University of Zurich .

Among other things, Klaus Oberauer makes contributions to research on working memory .
