Klaus Odening

Klaus Odening (born December 29, 1932 in Leipzig ) is a German zoologist and parasitologist .

Life

Odening studied biology at the Universities of Rostock and Halle from 1950 to 1954 and received his doctorate in Halle in 1958. At the Academy of Sciences in Berlin , he built the parasitological work area of ​​the zoological research center in the zoo. In 1965 he completed his habilitation at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1967 he became an honorary member of the All Union Society of Helminthologists at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR . In 1976 he was appointed professor of zoology.

From 1980 to 1996 he was editor-in-chief of the journal Angewandte Parasitologie .
