Klaus Reder

Klaus Reder (* 1958 in Obereßfeld ) is a German historian and folklorist . He has been a full-time home nurse in the Lower Franconia district since 1999 . Since 2007 he has been an honorary professor at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Live and act

Klaus Reder was born in 1958 as one of the sons of the engineer, local politician, musician and local researcher Anton Reder (1933–1998) and his wife Inge (née Ruck) in Obereßfeld .

Reder studied at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg the subjects of folklore , historical auxiliary sciences , prehistory and early history and Franconian church history . From 1986 he worked as a research assistant in the department of cultural work and homeland care in the district of Lower Franconia . In 1994 he obtained his doctorate in philosophy on “The Bavarian Physics Reports 1858-1861 as an ethnographic source using the example of Lower Franconia” .

Reder has been a lecturer since 1996 and an honorary professor at the Chair of European Ethnology / Folklore at the University of Würzburg since 2007 .

In addition to his teaching activities, Reder has been a district home nurse and head of the culture department of the district of Lower Franconia since 1999. The department for cultural work and homeland maintenance, which he heads, supports and advises clubs, associations and private individuals who are committed to history and customs in Lower Franconia .

Reder is committed to the Sant'Egidio community and took part in their 2017 world peace meeting in Münster and Osnabrück.
