Klaus Scherberich

Klaus Scherberich (* 1961 ) is a German ancient historian and history educator .

Klaus Scherberich studied history and Latin at the University of Cologne . There he passed the 1st state examination for secondary level I and II in 1989 . He received his doctorate in 1993 in Cologne with studies on the vita Claudii des Suetonius . A year later he also passed the 2nd state examination for teaching at both secondary levels. He has been employed at RWTH Aachen University since 1996 . Initially, Scherberich was Raban von Haehlings ' research assistant until 2001 , and since his habilitation in 2001 as a senior assistant and private lecturer. The subject of the habilitation was Koinè symmachía. Studies of the Hellenic League Antigonus' III. Doson and Philip V (224–197 BC) . Between 2003 and 2005 he represented the professorship for didactics of history at the Historical Institute of RWTH Aachen. After that, Scherberich was appointed to the university advisor, in 2007 to the senior lecturer and in 2010 as an adjunct professor.

Scherberich focused his research on Greek history of the 3rd century BC. BC, the Roman Empire and general ancient historiography . He also deals with subject didactics in the history sciences.
