Klaus Schwertner

Klaus Schwertner (* 1976 in Vienna ) is an Austrian social manager and influencer . Since 2013 he has been managing director of Caritas in the Archdiocese of Vienna .

Life

Klaus Schwertner studied health management at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems . After completing his studies, he was responsible for public relations at the Niederösterreichische Landeskliniken-Holding . From 2008 to 2013 Schwertner was the press spokesman for the Caritas Archdiocese of Vienna, and has been a managing director there since March 2013. In the course of the refugee crisis in 2015 , Schwertner increasingly appeared as a human rights activist . In 2016 he was named Communicator of the Year by the Public Relations Association Austria . Schwertner subsequently established himself as one of the most influential corporate influencers in Austria. The Austrian daily newspaper Der Standard describes him as a kind of “Caritas poster boy” and a “ troll of humanity”. In 2018, the New York Times even reported on his “Flowerrain” campaign for the Vienna New Year's baby Asel . In 2019 he was awarded the Blogger Award from the Austrian magazine Madonna for his commitment to combating hate speech and racism on the internet .

Schwertner is also known through interviews and appearances on television, e.g. B. at the SWR night café .
