Klaus Wenzel

Klaus Wenzel (* 22. September 1949 in Sulzbach-Rosenberg ) is a teacher , association official and school book - author .

After completing his studies, he took up a position at a secondary school in the Nuremberg region . From the 1972/73 school year he worked at the secondary school Schnaittach , where he completed his preparatory service in 1976 with the second state examination. In 1984 he was appointed seminar leader for teaching at secondary schools.

He joined the Bavarian Teachers' Association (BLLV) at the beginning of his studies in 1970. There he became the spokesman for the working group of Bavarian young teachers and ABJ liaison in the Schnaittach district association. From 1977 to 1982 Wenzel held the office of ABJ district chairman for Middle Franconia . From 1981 to 1982 he was the state press officer for the ABJ, and from 1982 to 1984 he was state chairman of the ABJ. At the same time, Wenzel was involved in the Central Franconian regional association as a specialist in professional sciences. In 1984 Wenzel was elected head of the school and education policy department at the BLLV. Since 1988 he has represented the interests of Bavarian teachers as a member of the main staff council at the State Ministry for Education and Culture . From 2007 to 2015 he was President of the Bavarian Teachers' Association ; In 2015 he was appointed honorary president.

For fifteen years he gave advice and information on topics affecting parents, children and educators on the parent phone of Domino Verlag . Wenzel is the editor and co-author of educational and practical books. He is a founding member of the practical learning initiative in Bavaria, the support program for democratic action in Jena and the learning foundation in Munich.

On February 1, 2019, he was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
