history

In the hilly, secluded landscape of the Au valley overgrown with pines, the Maidenlager Hollenbeck of the Reich Labor Service of Female Youth (RADwJ) was founded in 1936 . On July 11, 1936, the camp was inaugurated on Klaus Kackmann's property; before that, the girls and their camp leader were housed on the Eckhoff farm. In 1938 the camp was expanded. It is not known whether it was subsequently expanded again.

On April 17, 1945 the camp was evacuated by the British troops. The area was later parceled out and built with residential houses.
