The Kleine Küchensee is a lake in the Duchy of Lauenburg in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein . The lake is about 20 hectares and up to 12.8 m deep. Together with the Ratzeburger See and the Großer Küchensee, it encloses the island town of Ratzeburg . The division into the large and small Küchensee came about when dams were raised between the lakeshore and cathedral island. Because of its small size, it is also called a spittoon by the locals .
