Klemens Jockwig

Klemens Jockwig (born May 1, 1936 in Glatz , Lower Silesia Province ) is a Redemptorist , Catholic theologian and emeritus professor of religious education , teaching preaching and speech training .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1955, Klemens Jockwig joined the Redemptorist Order at the age of 19. In 1956 he started at Phil.-Theol. University of the Redemptorists in Hennef-Geistingen the study of Catholic theology , which it finished in 1961. In the same year he was ordained a priest. From 1961 to 1966 he studied speech sciences in Munich and did a doctorate in theology. Then Jockwig joined the Phil.-Theol. University in Hennef-Geistingen offers a professorship for religious education, sermon teaching and speech training. In 1969 there was also a professorship at Phil.-Theol. College of the Steyler Missionaries in Sankt Augustin .

From 1972 to 1998 Jockwig worked for the Annunciation broadcasts on radio and television, among other things as speaker of the Word for Sunday . From 1980 to 1996 he was the representative of the Catholic Church at Deutschlandfunk , DeutschlandRadio and Deutsche Welle in Cologne. In 1996 he resigned most of his offices and has since worked in confessional, conversation and telephone counseling for the Redemptorists in Trier .

Jockwig published sermon literature as well as picture text booklets, books of hours and poetry in Lahn-Verlag, Limburg. Today he lives with the Redemptorists in Trier and performs his priestly service there in the parish of Liebfrauen.
