Kleonymos (sculptor)

Cleomynos ( ancient Greek Κλεώνυμος ) was a Greek sculptor from Samos who worked in the second half of the 3rd and the beginning of the 2nd century BC. Was active in Lindos and Kameiros on Rhodes .

He is known from two inscriptions on statue bases. One base was found on the Acropolis of Lindos, the statue on it was donated by Euphrantidus, a priest of the city goddess Athena Lindia and Zeus Polieus, according to the inscription . The base is dated to around 236 BC. Dated. The other base was found in Kameiros, the statue was donated in honor of a demiurge by Kleinagoras, Milon, Chariades and Damanasse. Nothing is known about the statues themselves.
