Walbusch Walter Busch GmbH & Co. KG is a German fashion company based in Solingen .

history

In 1934 Walter Busch founded a "mail order business for high-quality Solingen cutlery" under the name Walter Busch Sohn . In the 1950s, the company specialized in shipping electrical appliances and household items, especially electric shavers. In 1959, Walbusch added non-iron nyltest shirts to its catalog. That was the beginning of the switch to the textile trade. In 1963 the Walbusch shirt followed with the collar without a button. This shirt, which was registered as a patent in 1999 because of its specific cut on the collar , is still the company's trademark today.

After the death of the company's founder, Walter Busch, his son Thomas Busch took over the management in 1976 and expanded the company to its present size. Before that he worked in the marketing department at Neckermann in Frankfurt am Main. For further expansion, Walbusch founded subsidiaries in Austria and Switzerland in 1989 and 1994. In 2008 Thomas Busch retired from the management and switched to the advisory board. In the third generation, Christian Busch leads the company as partner and chairman of the management together with Ralph Hürlemann, Marcus Leber and Frank Reuber. The subsidiary Avena - Gesundheit from Bad Kreuznach was founded in 1999, and the functional clothing brand Klepper was taken over in 2003. In 2007 Walbusch acquired the trademark rights of the Leipzig textile company Mey & Edlich .
