Kliemannsland is a real creative project of the namesake Fynn Kliemann in rural Lower Saxony around 50 km southwest of Hamburg. Its operating costs were co-financed until July 31, 2020 through the proceeds of the web series of the same name produced by funk for NDR . The whole thing takes place in a spacious former inn in the 250-inhabitant village of Rüspel , which is gradually being converted into a center for creative people.

The Kliemannsland

The Kliemannsland is a fictional monarchy with Fynn Kliemann as the “home improvement king” and, according to the makers, the “first, best and freest interactive state in the world”.

On the Kliemannsland website, viewers can apply for a citizenship ID. The Kliemannsland currently has around 55,000 citizens (as of September 2019). The Kliemannsland system is based on the help of volunteers who can register via the “Fynnder” platform. In the summer of 2017, the Viva con Agua network meeting with 500 participants took place on the grounds of the Kliemannsland.

Semi-public club concerts are now often held in the former village hall belonging to the courtyard. But the village associations can continue to rent and use it for their celebrations, which ensures peace in the village. In addition, the Kliemannsland organizes events such as a Christmas market , called "Wunderlicher Winterzauber Kliemannsland" (WuWiZaKliLa) , a flea market or live programs. Another channel that played in Kliemannsland is the radio format “Koch Ma!”, Which was discontinued in December 2018.

It is very important not to be confused with a hippie rural commune. As a volunteer Kliemannsland activist, you can only live there temporarily and on site in discarded caravans, if you can bring creative, manual skills with the approval of the team. There are also a few full-time employees who ensure that the project is kept going organizationally and economically. The project continuously operates its own café, which (as of 2019) is open on Saturdays and Sundays between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. It offers products from the region, WiFi and an occasional café concert.

The videos appear at least once a week. They were produced from April 6, 2016 to July 31, 2020 by cineteam hannover GmbH under the editing of NDR. From August 1, 2020, the videos will be produced in-house.

Finder

Fynnder is a platform on a website that is used to vote on the next projects in Kliemannsland. As a citizen, you can make suggestions that can be provided with pictures. All other citizens can then vote on the proposal using “Fynnd ich gut” or “Fynnd ich kagge” and thus influence future projects in Kliemannsland.
