Location of Rüspel in Lower Saxony

Rüspel is a place in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony . It has been part of the Elsdorf community since 1974 .

The place has 248 inhabitants and is 533 hectares in size. There are two full-time agricultural and six part-time farms in the village.

In Rüspel there is a rifle hall, a fire station , a gymnastics hall, a youth center, the café in Kliemannsland and an inn.

The center of the village is the village park.

From April 6, 2016 to July 31, 2020, the Kliemannsland web series was produced in Rüspel with Fynn Kliemann for the Funk media offering , and the series has been produced independently since then.

The local researcher, local poet and teacher Georg Brinke was born in Upper Silesia in 1887 and worked in Rüspel since 1908. He died there in 1970 at the age of 83. His library contained over 20,000 books. He published his work in Der Sonntag , the Deutsche Warte and in De Sood , a newsletter of the Heimatbund Bremervörde. The Georg-Brinke-Weg was named in his honor.
