Klingenzell is a district of the municipality of Mammern , a political municipality in the Frauenfeld district of the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland , and is located on the south bank of the Untersee .

Pilgrimage Church of the Seven Sorrows of Mary

The priory was founded in the Middle Ages by the Lords of Hohenklingen (with headquarters at Hohenklingen Castle ). The Klingenzell pilgrimage church was consecrated to Our Lady of Sorrows in 1705 . The patronage is celebrated on the Friday after the 5th Sunday of Lent.

The parish is part of the Catholic pastoral care association Eschenz –Klingenzell – Mammern– Stein am Rhein .

A Way of the Cross with 12 stations was built below the Klingenzell chapel , which leads past a Marian grotto in the direction of Mammern. Processions take place twice a year from the Eschenz church to Klingenzell.
