KLIPP Frisör is an Austrian family hairdressing company . It was founded in 1989 by Ewald Lanzl, former Austrian state master of hairdressing (1977), and today operates around 200 salons in Austria. For several years now, KLIPP has been competing with the dm company for the status of Austria's largest hairdressing service provider.

history

Ewald Lanzl learned the hairdressing trade in his mother Maria's owner-run salon in Thalheim near Wels . In 1972 he took over the hairdressing business.

Together with his wife Edith Lanzl, he founded today's company on June 15, 1989 and registered the brand KLIPP - Unser Frisör . At the end of 2011 the company had 180 branches. In comparison, in November 2007 dm had 183 salons in its Austrian drugstores. In 2013, around 1,200 people were employed at Klipp , and sales were estimated at 34 million euros. In November 2014 KLIPP had 187 branches, dm 191 hairdressing studios.

The company has been running an online shop for hair and hairdressing products since 2013.

Award

In 2009 Ewald Lanzl received the Thalheim economic pyramid for special economic achievements in the market town. In 2012 he received the “Life Award” from the Austrian Hairdressing Awards for his life's work.
