Aufhausen Abbey

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aufhausen Monastery is a former monastery of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philipp Neri (Filipino) in Aufhausen in Bavaria in the diocese of Regensburg . In between Benedictine priory, it is meanwhile again an oratorio first of the Brothers of the Holy Blood (FSS), since 2012 of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philipp Neri in Aufhausen (CO) and a branch of the Servants of the Holy Blood (SAS), which from a canonical point of view represent a public association of canon law with legal personality.

history

The monastery consecrated to Maria Schnee was founded in the late 17th century by the local pastor Johann Georg Seidenbusch . The monastery was not abolished during the secularization in Bavaria and was given the title "Royal Nerian Institute" (until 1829). In 1886 the last provost died . In 1890, Benedictines took over the vacant buildings from the Lower Bavarian monastery of Metten . They built a new building and a priory . In 1978 the priory was given up again.

Since 2006 there has been a branch in Aufhausen for the Brothers of the Holy Blood (FSS), founded by Father Winfried M. Wermter, to whom the Bishop of Regensburg assigned the parish for pastoral care. The congregation of the Oratory of St. Philipp Neri in Aufhausen (CO) emerged from them in 2012. The oratorians are supported by the organisationally independent Servants of the Holy Blood (SAS), also founded by Wermter in 2009. Together with a mutual group of friends, the Community of the Holy Blood (CSS), confirmed in 2009, they form the Spiritual Family of the Holy Blood.
